Encompass SmartClient 1.0

Encompass SmartClient is the Windows desktop application for accessing Ellie Mae’s Encompass loan origination system (Ellie Mae, Inc., now part of ICE Mortgage Technology). Delivered as an auto-updating “smart client,” it provides a secure, performant way for lenders and mortgage professionals to work in Encompass with the look and feel of a native app while keeping deployment and updates centralized.

Key capabilities:

• End-to-end mortgage workflow: manage loans from lead and application through processing, underwriting, closing, and post‑closing.
• Role-based access and audit trails to help enforce company policies and controls.
• Document management (eFolder), disclosures, and eSign workflows.
• Integrations with partner services for product/pricing, credit, AUS, verifications, and secondary market activities.
• Built-in compliance support and quality controls to help manage regulatory requirements and reduce risk.
• Pipeline, tasking, and configurable business rules to automate routine steps and maintain data integrity.
• ClickOnce-based delivery with automatic updates to minimize IT overhead.

Notes:

• Requires an active Encompass subscription and valid user credentials; not a standalone consumer product.
• Designed for Windows and a stable internet connection; specific system requirements depend on your Encompass environment and IT policies.
